— The Avett Brothers (via jbarbershop)
I wonder which brother is better
Which one our parents loved the most
I sure did get in lots of trouble
They seemed to let the other go
A tear fell from my father’s eyes
I wondered what my Dad would say
He said, “I love you, and I’m proud of you both
In so many different ways.”
We came for salvation, we came for family, we came for all that’s good, that’s how we’ll walk away. We came to break the bad, we came to cheer the sad, we came to leave behind the world a better way.
This song has always touched me so deeply. It’s one of the reasons that Mignonette is my favorite album of all time. These men and their songs mean a lot. I’m beyond thankful that I’m get to see them on Thursday in Clemson, SC. I haven’t been to a show of theirs since February 2012 in Jacksonville, FL! I can’t wait to sing my heart out with you, boys.
